Things to do near Fryeburg, Maine 


There's always something to do in Western Maine, close to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. During the summer, go kayaking or bike the White Mountains. Be sure to visit Mount Washington Observatory. When the winter season comes around, hit the slopes of Shawnee Peak, Cranmore Mountain, Wildcat, and Attitash. Snowshoeing and Nordic cross-country skiing are also available at the touring center tracks or regional trails.

Tube down the crystal clear water at the Saco River. The river provides many outdoor recreational opportunities for the whole family. The summer season is the best time to go as the river averages 3 feet deep with small rapids.

Mount Washington Observatory is a nonprofit research and educational institution working to advance understanding of Earth's weather and climate. It serves this mission by maintaining a weather station on the summit of Mount Washington.

Nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains, the Stone Mountain Arts Center is a beautiful timber frame music hall hosting national acts up close and personal in an equally beautiful setting.

North Conway is just a fifteen-minute drive from the Admiral Peary Inn, and provides shopping at the Setters Green Outlet Village, with more than 60 stores all offering outlet store prices tax-free.

Skiing

Admiral Peary Inn Bed & Breakfast is near seven ski resorts, many of which are in the White Mountains. Downhill ski on more than 450 trails at more than 20 ski areas.
